The multipurpose helicopter Airbus AS350, which the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton acquired for the needs of civil protection and police, was presented today at the airport in Golubić near Bihać, as part of a working visit and exchange of experiences between the two cantons.
The presentation of the aircraft was arranged by the Civil Protection of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Government of the Una-Sana Canton, and the procurement procedures, financial models, helicopter maintenance and training of crews and supporting services were discussed.
The Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, Mustafa Ružnić, who also holds the position of Commander of the Cantonal Staff of Civil Protection, pointed out that the procurement of helicopters is recognized as one of the priorities of the cantonal authorities.
– Based on the experiences of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, we want to shorten the procedure and legally obtain a multi-purpose helicopter for the needs of civil protection, security and health of the USK – said Ružnić.
USK Interior Minister Adnan Habibija emphasized that the helicopter would have multiple applications in police and security operations, especially in emergency interventions.
– This would be a multifunctional helicopter that would serve civil protection, the police and health institutions, especially in cases of serious traffic accidents and emergency medical transport, where the speed of reaction is crucial – said Habibija.
Pilot of Civil Protection of Zenica-Doboj Canton Vahidin Mahmutović explained the technical characteristics of the aircraft and its operational capabilities.
– It is an H125 helicopter manufactured by Airbus, which is used as a multipurpose aircraft. It is not permanently medically equipped, but the medical module can be installed in a few minutes, which enables medical evacuation and transport of patients – said Mahmutović.
During the meeting, future cooperation between the two cantons was also discussed, including joint training and knowledge exchange in the field of civil protection, security and emergency interventions.
