JP “RAD” dd Tešanj published the water balance for the first half of 2026, which shows the continuation of the positive trend in the management of the water supply system and the lowest water losses since the company has been monitoring these indicators.
According to the company’s data, the total difference between the input and output volume of water in the first six months of this year is 19.62 percent, while the estimated real, or physical losses according to the international IWA methodology are only 12.76 percent.
JP “RAD” points out that the long-term comparison shows significant progress. Namely, the total difference in the first half of 2019 was 27.01 percent, which means that in seven years it was reduced by 7.39 percentage points, that is, by approximately 27 percent.
They especially emphasize that the result achieved in the first half of 2026 is the best since the company has been operating.
The achieved result is also significant in comparison with the average in Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to earlier UNDP data, water losses in public water supply systems in BiH often exceeded 55 percent, while in the Tešani water supply system they are almost three times lower.
The company states that the good results were achieved thanks to continuous investments in the modernization of the system, including the division of the network into measurement and control zones, telemetry flow monitoring, active detection and rapid repair of faults, regular calibration of water meters, reconstruction of the water supply network, remote reading and improvement of the GIS database.
During the first six months of this year, 1,076 water meters were calibrated, while the condition of the water supply network is monitored through a total of 94 branch water meters.
JP “RAD” points out that all analyzed water samples in the first half of the year met the prescribed physico-chemical and microbiological standards, confirming the quality of the water supplied to users.
They say that in the coming period they will continue to invest in the reduction of losses, the safety of the water supply system and the improvement of service quality, with the aim of ensuring a safe, high-quality and sustainable water supply for the citizens of Tešanj municipality.
