Speaking at a conference of Republican representatives in Congress, held at his golf course in suburban Miami, Trump said the intervention was necessary to “solve evil.”
“We took a small action because we felt we had to do it to remove something evil. I think you’ll see it’s going to be a short-term operation,” Trump said, stressing that the world now respects the United States more than ever.
Trump added that American forces together with Israeli partners are “crushing the enemy” by demonstrating, as he said, superior technical ability and military power.
According to him, Iran’s drone and missile program has been largely destroyed, while the Iranian navy has suffered huge losses.
“Their navy is gone. Everything is at the bottom of the ocean – 46 ships. Can you believe it?” Trump said.
He also pointed out that many Iranian leaders have been eliminated or, as he said, will be soon.
“They had leaders, but now they are gone. They appointed new people, but now nobody really knows who will lead the country,” he added.
Trump emphasized that the United States will continue operations until the enemy is “totally and decisively defeated.”
“We have already won in many ways, but it is not enough. We are moving forward more determined than ever to achieve the final victory that will end this long-standing threat once and for all,” Trump said.
“Iran was supposed to be a great, powerful country. We destroyed them and they had nothing left. If we hadn’t done that B-2 attack, Israel would have been destroyed,” Trump said.
