Široki’s basketball players are ABA 2 league champions! With the victory on the road in the second final game at TFT Skopje with a score of 86:87, they won the trophy that was missing at Pecara, thus gaining a place in the elite rank of the regional competition.
Široki entered this meeting with 1:0 by leadership in final series because last week he convincingly celebrated on his own field. The final series of this competition, let’s remind you, is played on the basis of two wins.
At the very beginning of the match, he followed interruption due to the insertion of paper strips by local fans on the field, but the parquet was quickly cleaned and the match started. He speaks about the importance of this match hard and nervous opening with plenty of errors from both sides. The teams tried to establish their rhythm, but lacked precision.
HKK Široki and TFT Skopje are fighting for this trophy tonight
In the opening minutes, Široki led minimally, and in the middle of the first quarter, that lead passed to the home side, who were in the lead Govens and Gordon entered the last minute with a 23:16 lead. It is interesting how they are with both teams only starting five scored points, but at TFT all five players were in double figures before the last quarter, and at Široki Trica he convincingly led the list of scorers with 27 points, followed only by Škedelj with 10. Vujanović scored his first points in the last second of the third quarter by hitting a three-pointer and thus brought Široki closer to 61:59.
At the beginning of the last quarter, Široki through MC Creary equalized 61:61.The home team managed to break away again, but Široki went over Matej Bošnjak, Trice and Vujanović returns again and there is a new tie of 69:69, and in the next attack, the guests take the lead after a long time with points from Bosniaks.
As in the first final match at Pecara, Dominik Vujanovic he played great game and in tonight’s meeting. Scoring three-pointers at important moments (74:76, 80:85) participated in a new turnaround for his team. Real drama followed until the end of the match, but Široki managed to celebrate and win the trophy he was missing – champion of the ABA 2 league!
