Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has expressed strong confidence in the Black Stars’ prospects at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, saying the team has what it takes to beat any opponent in the group stage.
Four-time African champions are preparing for their fifth appearance at the world fair, and will compete in the challenging group L along with Panama, England and Croatia. Despite facing two European heavyweights and ambitious Panama, Okraku believes it is Ghana ready to meet the challenge.
Addressing members of the Ghanaian community in the United States of America on the eve of the tournament, the president of the GFA sounded optimistic while the excitement surrounding the national team continues to grow.
We have three opponents at this World Cup: Panama, England and Croatia. We will run over them all.
His comments reflect a growing conviction within the Ghanaian camp that “Black Stars” (nickname of the national team) are finishing their preparations before the start of the tournament. The team is training in the United States of America, and is expected to arriving in Canada later todayahead of his first game.
