Swedish activist Greta Thunberg has been released from custody after being arrested in London on Tuesday during a pro-Palestinian protest, police said.
British organization Prisoners for Palestine said Thunberg had previously been arrested under the Terrorism Act for holding a banner reading: “I support Palestine Action prisoners. I oppose genocide”. Palestine Action has been designated a terrorist organization by the United Kingdom government.
The City of London Police said Thunberg had been released on bail until March. Earlier it was stated that two more people were arrested for throwing red paint on a building. The police spokesman added that a 22-year-old woman later came to the scene and was arrested for displaying banners in support of a banned organization.

Prisoners for Palestine, which supports some detained activists, including those on hunger strike, said the building was the target of the protests because it is used by an insurance company they say provides services to the British subsidiary of Israeli defense company Elbit Systems. That insurance company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Greta Thunberg (22) became internationally famous in 2018 after she started weekly climate protests in front of the Swedish parliament. She was acquitted of public disorder charges in the UK last year, after a court ruled that police did not have the authority to arrest her during an earlier protest in London.
In October, Thunberg was detained along with 478 other people and deported from Israel after joining an activist convoy of Global Sumud Flotilla ships that attempted to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Israel has repeatedly rejected accusations of genocide.
