Sarajevo’s swimming pearl Jan Radenović once again confirmed that he belongs to the very top of Bosnia and Herzegovina. swimming.
At the Summer Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the category of junior cadets, a member of the Flipper Swimming Club achieved a feat by winning as many as six gold medals.
Six races, six gold medals
The journey to the six-time state champion title began on the first day of the competition on Saturday, June 13, when he won gold medals in the 400-meter medley and 100-meter backstroke. What followed during the second day of the championship was a presentation of quality, strength and talent.
He first won gold in the 100m backstroke and then continued his dominance in the 200m freestyle, 200m backstroke, 200m medley and 800m freestyle. Six races, six gold medals.
This result is just another confirmation that he is one of the most promising young swimmers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, because during eight years of swimming he won over 170 medals at domestic and international competitions held in Bratislava, Zagreb, Belgrade, Novi Sad, Vukovar, Podgorica, Split, Banja Luka, Sarajevo and numerous other cities.
Started eight years ago
His sports story began eight years ago at the SPID Sarajevo Swimming Club, where he made his first swimming strokes. Today, under the auspices of the Flipper Swimming Club, he has grown into a champion who was the best in all six disciplines in which he competed at the national championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“For me, this is the realization of a big dream, but at the same time the beginning of a new chapter. I know that a lot more work, training and sacrifices await me in order to achieve the goals I have set for myself. No training is difficult when you have a clear goal and when you have people who believe in you by your side. These medals belong to everyone who believed in me,” said Radenović.
Early training sessions before classes
Although there are many who have a part of the credit, the current coach, Edvin Teskeredžić, is the man who has followed Jan since his first swimming steps.
“Jan is a boy I have known for years. In a way, I am a part of his upbringing and I am extremely happy and proud that today I can be a part of his sports story. What he did at the national championship is not a coincidence, but the result of enormous work, discipline and dedication that has lasted for years. Jan does not miss training, he gets up early for morning training and comes to the pool again after school. Few people see how many sacrifices are behind such results. The six gold medals at the championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina are the reward for all the effort he puts in. “I am proud of him, but also of the entire team of the Flipper Swimming Club. I believe that this is just the beginning and that the best is yet to come for everyone,” said Teskeredžić.
Successful in school and in the pool
The fact that Jan is an excellent student also confirms that success is not built only in the pool. He recently successfully completed the fifth grade of the St. Josip Catholic School Center in Sarajevo, while at the same time achieving excellent sports results.
Before Jan Radenović, there are still the biggest challenges, but also the opportunity to write his name among the most successful swimmers that Bosnia and Herzegovina has had. His story is already inspiring, and the best, apparently, is yet to come.
