Salvador stated the outbreak of cholera and violence against women as additional threats with an increasingly worse security situation, especially in the capital of Port-au-Prince, where the authorities struggle to end with the crisis, the AFP reports.
The poorest country in the western hemisphere, Haiti faces serious political instability, while large parts of the country are under the control of rival armed gangs that mass murders, rape and abduction.
Armed groups are fighting for control over Port-au-Prince, and the conflicts intensified how gangs try to expand their territories.
The forces led by Kenya, approved by the United Nations, failed to suppress gangs. The mission has about 1,000 police officers from six countries, although it is originally planned to be 2,500.
