In the past few days, according to the Telegraph, a number of fighter jets, tankers and support aircraft have been moved towards the Gulf region. In parallel, the USS Gerald R. Ford is approaching the area of operations together with the operational carrier USS Abraham Lincoln already in the Arabian Sea.
CNN cited informed sources as saying that senior national security officials have informed Trump that the military is ready to strike Iran as early as Saturday, although the president has not yet made a final decision. The White House is currently assessing the “risks of escalation and the political and military consequences of containment.”
Axios reports that the US is closer to a major war than most Americans think, which could start “very soon” and have “dramatic consequences” for the entire region.
In the past few days, dozens of F-35 and F-16 fighter jets, as well as numerous aerial refueling aircraft, have been moved to the Middle East. The Telegraph reports that “everything that can fly” is being sent to the region.
