Former Croatian soccer player Davor Šuker (58) was admitted to the International Soccer Hall of Fame in Mexico, a museum that honors soccer legends, the organizer reported on Wednesday.
Sugar, top scorer of the 1998 World Cup in which he won a bronze medal with Croatia, he was included based on the votes of journalists from 49 countries including the Croatian Reporting News Agency (Hina).
Thierry Henry, Alessandro del Piero, Bebeto, Miroslav Klose and Fernando Torres were also selected among the fifteen offered candidates, as well as soccer player Homare Sawa.
International Football Hall of Fame (El Salon de la Fama del Fútbol Internacional) is a museum, that is interactive centeropened in 2011 in the Mexican city of Pachuca.
It receives new ones every year international and Mexican legends so now there are 206 of them.
Šuker, former striker of Real Madrid, Sevilla and Arsenal, is the first Croatian footballer to be included.
He will be invited to Pachuca for the ceremony November 10spokeswoman Paola Herrera Rodriguez said.
The ceremony will be organized in a building designed in the shape of a ballwhere there are photos and descriptions of former football players, coaches and managers. Victor Manuel Vucetich (70), a former Mexican midfielder and coach of Croatian origin, was already included there.
