– Tomorrow I will visit the state company SEPS and ask them to stop the emergency power supply – said Fico in a video message on Facebook.
Fico emphasized that the country has the right to respond in this way to the blockade of oil and gas implemented by Kiev.
On Friday, Ukraine, without explanation, again postponed the continuation of oil deliveries via the Druzhba pipeline, which were expected on Saturday, to Tuesday. Before that, on February 18, Bratislava declared a crisis situation.
Slovakia, along with Hungary, lost supplies on January 27. According to the Mandiner portal, Ukrainian authorities are not continuing deliveries, citing damage to the plant as a result of “Russian attacks”.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijártó said that Kyiv blocked the transit for fictitious political reasons, as there were no technical grounds for it. As a result, both countries asked Croatia to lift sanctions and allow Russian oil to be shipped by sea.
Slovakia and Hungary announced this Sunday that they will suspend diesel fuel exports to Ukraine until the Druzhba pipeline resumes operations.
