Stolac will once again host one of the recognizable recreational and sports events in Herzegovina this year. The sixth edition of the Stolački cener will be held on May 16, 2026, and this time the participants will be offered a combination of running, natural beauty, cultural and historical heritage and Herzegovinian hospitality.
The organizers point out how Stolac cener it’s not just a race, but also a special experience of the city through which each route takes the competitors along a series of sights for which Stolac is widely known. Running through its streets, participants will have the opportunity to meet rich past and the unique ambience of the town on Bregava.
Among the localities that stand out are the Spiritual and Cultural Center of the Diocese of Trebinje-Mrka, the Orthodox Church of St. Ascension of Christ from 1870, Provalija waterfall, Begovina and Begov bridge, Inat bridge, small Benat waterfall, Sara’s bridge from 1896 and Stolac tekija.

Competitive program Stolac’s cenera is divided into two disciplines, i.e races on five and ten kilometers.
Five kilometer race brings a fast and attractive route through the center of Stolac, and passes along the 18th-century Podgradska bridge, the church of St. Ilije from 1902 and the Old Town of Vidoški, the former center of medieval Stolac.
Participants ten kilometer racein addition to all parts of the 5 km route, additional facilities and sights await, among which it stands out Sultan Selim’s mosque from the 16th century, one of the significant works of Ottoman architecture in Herzegovina.
The organizers say how they are the tracks are fast and flatwhich makes them suitable for those who want to run a personal record, but also for recreationists who want to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the city, the view of Bregava and its bridges, and the combination of sports, history and nature.
The sixth Stolac cener also this year brings an opportunity for sports challengebut also for getting to know the city where, as the organizers point out, every street tells its own story, and every step reveals something the new beauty of Herzegovina.
