The Cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church will be gathered on the conclave of 7. May to choose a new leader of the Global Church, confirmed a high source from the Vatican on Monday.
The date was agreed during the closed cardinal meeting, which was the first after the Pope Franco Funeral Funeral. The official announcement will be soon, Reuters writes.
Approximately 135 cardinals, all under 80 years and from different parts of the world, will be able to participate in the conclave and decide who will be the new leader of the church with 1.4 billion members.
Previous conclases, held in 2005. and 2013, lasted only two days.
