Mexico received almost 39,000 immigrants deported from the United States from the beginning of the US President Donald Trump, of which 33,000 Mexicans, said Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Tuesday.
The president of Mexico at the press conference held yesterday, answered questions about Mexicans in the United States and the campaign of the US President Donald Trump against the so-called “refuge cities”.
Sheinbaum pointed out that most Mexicans in the United States live legally.
– Since the estimated 38 million, 4 million have no documents, but most of them have lived in the United States for many years and contributes to society – she said.
She emphasized that 20 percent of Mexicans in the United States sent to Mexico through remittances and that it means that 80 percent remain in the United States – savings, consumption, tax payments.
– So that idea that migrants revoke the tasks of American citizens is completely wrong – they actually help the United States economies – she added.
