Deadline for the introduction of a new system of electronic travel permits to Europe – Ethias is approaching. He will bring numerous changes for passengers from BiH and the region.
ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) is a new electronic permit that will need all passengers from the countries with a visa-free chenery space. It is no visa, but is a mandatory pre-registration that is done online and lasts only a few minutes. Once approved, the ETIAS license will be valid for three years or until the passport expires.
In addition to ETIAS, the European Union also introduces digital Schengen through the new Entry / EXIT SYSTEM (EES), which will modernize passport controls at airports and borders.
Ethias is an electronic travel permit to the Schengen space, similar to the American Esta system. Passengers from about 60 countries, including Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United States, Canada and Australia, will have to fill out online forms before traveling to 7 euros and consecrate approval.
The permit will apply three years or until the passport expires. Ethias does not guarantee automatic entry into the EU, but is a prerequisite for control at the border. If the passenger does not have a valid ETIAs permission, he can be rejected by boarding a flight or entering Schengen.
With ETIAS, Entry / Exit System (EES) is also introduced – a new electronic system for records of the entries and exits from Schengen. Instead of classic passport stamping, passenger data will be digitally recorded. The date of entry and exit is registered, as well as the duration of the stay which in most cases must not exceed 90 days within 180 days, writes Avaz.
