Dubai enters the duel after an important away victory over Žalgiris with a score of 77:65, with which it kept its chances for placement in the Euroleague play-in. Coach Jurica Golemac’s team will try to confirm that success in the remaining two rounds of the regular season, in which they will play against Efes and Spanish Valencia.
One of the key players of Dubai and representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Džanan Musa, said that for his team, every next game is of crucial importance.
– The season was very demanding, we had a difficult schedule, but now the door has opened for us to fight even for entry into the Euroleague play-in, which would be a huge success for our club. We have to play every game as a final, because the next two matches are extremely important for us – said Musa.
He added that two victories at the end of the regular part of the season could secure placement among the top ten teams.
– If we achieve the goals we set at the beginning of the season, winning the ABA league and placing in the top 10 of the Euroleague, it would be an extremely successful season. Anything above that would be an additional bonus – said Musa.
Speaking about his health, Musa pointed out that he is still recovering from his knee injury, but that he is happy to be back on the floor.
– After a three-month break, it’s not easy to come back. I still feel certain pains after the games and I go to therapy every day, but I fight and try to help the team as much as I can – said bh. basketball player.
Dubai coach Jurica Golemac emphasized that the focus of his team is currently exclusively on the match against Efes.
– Every game in the Euroleague is demanding, especially now at the end of the season when there are still two rounds left. All the players who played against Žalgiris are ready, which is very important for us. We also had some time for rest and we hope for a good atmosphere in Zetra – said Golemac.
He also referred to the turnaround that his basketball players staged in the last quarter of the match against Žalgiris, pointing out that his team won thanks to persistence and good defense.
– In modern basketball, it is difficult to maintain the same rhythm during all 40 minutes. It is important that the team does not give up regardless of the result. Against Žalgiris, we remained strong in defense and when we opened up in attack, we managed to turn the game around – said Golemac.
He added that the team is satisfied with the support of the Sarajevo audience during the season.
