A marathon race of 42,195 kilometers is held in Sarajevo, which is also the BiH Marathon Championship, as well as the Nutrino-vih21K – half marathon and the Osman Junuzović 5K Memorial Race powered by Fine food.
There are over 2,000 competitors from 47 countries on the streets of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo, which is a new record for the number of participants and the number of countries that have their representatives.
The Boys in Blue Association apologized to the citizens of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo for the temporary, partial suspension of traffic that will last on Sunday, April 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Traffic on the main city road in the direction of Marijin dvor – Ilidža was already normalized by 9:40 a.m. In the section that passes through the municipality of Istocna Ilidža in the period from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., traffic will take place alternately in one lane.
They invited the citizens of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo to take to the streets and support the runners.
Race route: the start of the race is at the Wilson Promenade near the Ars Aevi Bridge and continues across the Suada and Olga Bridges, Grbavička, Ivice Osima Boulevard, AS Roundabout, Topal Osman Paše – Wilson Promenade – Vrbanja – Zmaja od Bosne – Meša Selimović Boulevard – Džemal Bijedića – Ilidža Road – Blažujski Road – Vrelo Bosne – Stojčevac – Velika Aleja – Hrasnička Cesta – Famosa Road – 4th August – Second Sarajevo Brigade – Vasilija Grđić – Kurt Schorka – Vahide Maglajlić – Bulevar Mimar Sinan – Plavi put – Želimir Vidović Kelija – Šejh Husein Bakri Gazaz – Safet Hadzić – Bulevar Ivice Osima, roundabout AS, Topal Osman paše – Vilsonovo promenade.
About 250 security guards, members of the KS MUP, the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the GSS Sarajevo, take care of the safety of the participants.
