Chief imam of the Majlis of the Tešanj Islamic Community, M.Sc. Fuad-ef. Omerbašićhe handed January 10, 2026 financial aid to the Halilović family, whose house was destroyed in a fire at the end of December last year. The funds were provided by Office for Social Care of the Rijaset of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovinaand the handover took place in the premises of the Mejlis from Tešanj.

According to information from the Ministry of Interior Tešanj, in the early morning hours of December 23, 2025 there was a fire at the family house of Mirnes Halilović, caused by a fault in the electrical installations. Thanks to the quick and coordinated intervention of firefighting units from Tešnja and Dobojamore serious consequences were prevented, and all the household members were, as stated, saved without injury.
Chief Imam Fuad-ef. Omerbašić expressed solidarity and support for the Halilović family, stressing that The Islamic community, through its institutions and bodies, strives to be with its members in moments of trial and troubleand reminded of the importance of togetherness, mutual care and help.
