“If I meet with a path, it should be completed with a political victory – by breaking fire or by exchanging prisoners for everyone for everyone. And if he doesn’t come, it doesn’t want a political victory for either side,” said green.
He did not completely rule out the possibility that Putin could still come to Turkey this week.
“First of all, I don’t really believe that Putin is capable of meeting in person. And, if he feels a strong blow to his economy and in my opinion, there is still a possibility that he will come,” said Green for Spiegel.
He noted that he would rather meet a meeting in Ankara, which he told Turkish president in a telephone conversation.
“But if Putin decides to come to Istanbul, I will be ready to wait there. Such a meeting is needed to find the format that would bring the end of the war closer,” the Ukrainian leader.
Speaking of the American side and allegedly pressing Kiev but on Moscow, Greenski pointed out that the US President Donald Trump “should be convinced that Putin lies”.
“It should be shown that they are not Ukrainians who slow these processes,” Ukrainian president said and expressed hope that the United States would introduce a new “very dangerous for Russia” package of strong sanctions.
Greenski rated that Washington was ready for a step like that. When asked about Trump’s main negotiator Steve Witkoff, he said, he never talked to him, not even on the phone.
