FIFA has increased the prize fund for the 2026 World Cup to as much as $871 million, which represents an additional increase of about 15 percent compared to the previously announced amount.
This figure significantly exceeds the prize fund from the previous World Cup in 2022 in Qatar, when a total of 440 million dollars was distributed.
The increase is expected given that the next World Cup will be played in an expanded format with 48 national teams, instead of the current 32.
The new fund also includes additional funds for national team preparations, qualification cycles, as well as subsidies for the costs of team delegations and a larger number of tickets for tournament participants.
This means that the BiH national team will earn additional earnings of 1.7 million euros.
As a reminder, the Dragons will play in Group B with Canada, Qatar and Switzerland at the World Cup.
