“I am deeply saddened by the death of Pope Francis, the spiritual leader of the Catholic world and the chief of the Vatican state,” said Erdogan on the social network X.
He greeted Pope’s efforts regarding Gaza Genocide and Palestine’s question, adding:
“Pope Franjo was a prominent statesman and a spiritual leader who appreciated dialogue among different religious communities. He showed the initiative before humanitarian tragedies, especially in connection with Palestine and Gaza Gaza.”
Erdogan expressed his condolences to the Family Francis, Vatican and the entire Catholic world, in his own and the name of the Turkish nation.
In February, Papa Franjo was hospitalized in Rome due to bronchitis, which then outgrown into the mutual inflammation of the lungs. After 38 days of treatment, he was fired at home recovery in his residence in the Vatican. Vatican confirmed his death on Monday.
