The Municipality of Doboj Jug continues with activities to create a stimulating business environment and raise the quality of services for all its citizens and businessmen. As part of the certification program of cities and municipalities with a favorable business environment (BFC SEE), an intensive educational workshop focused on the key pillars of modern development was held: environmental protection, energy efficiency and digital transformation.
The main goal of the workshop, which was led by an expert in local economic development Vojislav Ivanovicwas to strengthen the capacities of the municipal administration, the Public Utility Company “Vis” and businessmen. Through practical examples, emphasis is placed on moving from a linear business model to the application of principles circular economywhich in practice means cost reduction through more efficient management of resources, increase in income and optimizing the work of the utility company.
During the workshop with the mayor and other participants, concrete activities were agreed upon that the Public Utility Company “Vis”, in cooperation with the Municipality, businessmen and citizens, will implement in the coming period in order to establish an efficient resource management system and provide better services to citizens and businessmen.
In the area energy efficiency implemented activities were discussed and a framework was agreed for new initiatives that will contribute to better planning and management of resources, as well as energy self-sustainability of the Municipality.
Special attention was paid digitization of administrative procedures. The results so far have been analyzed and key prerequisites have been identified for the continuation of activities on the digitization of administrative processes, which will significantly speed up the communication of citizens and businessmen with the administration, and on the other hand, contribute to environmental protection.
One of the conclusions of the workshop is the importance of establishment and maintenance partnership relationship between local administration, businessmen, citizens and the media. Only through joint action and transparent communication can we ensure effective environmental protection and sustainable local economic development.
