The demographic image of Bosnia and Herzegovina is devastating. To slide towards demographic flood, they warn experts for years, but numerous research also show.
Only in the last ten years in the Federation of BiH, 13 percent fewer children were born than in the previous decade. Almost 95 percent of municipalities and cities recorded a negative natural increase, and in some cantons the vital index is below 30, which means that on three deaths only one born child comes.

Amer Osmić from the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Political Sciences Sarajevo for “Dnevni Avaz” says that these are just the consequences of our relationship towards the demographic problem. As a society, it speaks to us, we very rarely analyze the cause, and we treat the consequence.

– When we take all the data we have, in general, children in primary and secondary schools, just see the trend of demographic depopulation, ie the regression of the most active population, which is the population that is working and which will create families tomorrow.

Schools close to us because there are no students
