Bayern players beat Real Madrid 2-1 in the first quarter-final match of the Champions League, while Arsenal beat Sporting 1-0 in stoppage time in Lisbon. The return matches are in Munich and London on April 15.
In a tense game with a handful of great chances at both ends, Bayern celebrated at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium with a 2-1 victory to take a goal advantage before the return leg at their Allianz Arena.
In the first part only one goal was scored, Bayern led 1-0, although there should have been many more goals on both sides.
