At the Assembly of the Croatian Taekwondo Association (HTS) held on Saturday in Zagreb, Dragan Primorac, a doctor who is on the list of 2 percent of the most influential scientists in the world, was elected president for the new four-year term.
The newly elected president thanked the previous leadership of the Association headed by Anto Nobilwho after 10 years of continuous and dedicated work is leaving the head of the Croatian Taekwondo Association.
It was realized during that period significant progress in the development of infrastructure, sports results and financial stability of the Association, which is confirmed by the successes of Croatian taekwondo athletes in the past decade.
Dragan Primorac pointed out that it is an honor for him to take over the management of the most trophy-winning individual Olympic sport in Croatia and emphasized:
As president, I want to point out that I am first among equals in the Croatian taekwondo community.
He emphasized that he will do his own rich experience, which includes the duty of the former Minister of Education and Sports, to improve the position of Croatian taekwondo in the country and abroad.
Special emphasis will be placed on strengthening the community of all those involved in taekwondo sport, further strengthening of sports results, involvement of as many young people as possible in taekwondo, transparency in work, by promoting criteria of excellence, promotion of taekwondo and Croatia at the international level, and connecting sports and modern medicine for the purpose of preventing injuries in athletes, but also the best treatment procedures.
