The Ministry of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, led by Minister Simir Šibonjić, approved the amount of 200,000 KM in the Regional Development Agency for the Central BiH for the realization of the project “IT infrastructure development in ZDK”. The project will be realized in cooperation with the city of Zavidovići, led by Mayor of Ernom Merdić Smailhodžić, and Maglaj Municipality, headed by the Mayor Suljic. The project partners will provide adequate spaces to start IT Hubs that will be given to the use of young people.
Within this strategic important project, investments are planned to strengthen the technological capacities and the development of the IT sector in the field of cantons. Special emphasizes that the funds are intended to establish modern IT hubs in Zavidovići and Maglaj. These spaces will be intended for young people who want to improve in the field of information technologies, develop innovative ideas and launch their own startup firms.
In addition, the project also provides for support for the ZenCode – IT incubator to serve as a central place for the development of the Startup ecosystem in Zenica-Doboj Canton.
After Zenica, and Zavidovići and Maglaj receive modern IT Hubs – a new opportunity for young people in the IT sector. The opening of IT Hub in Zavidovići is planned for 15. September 2025, on the day of Zavidovići, while the opening of IT Hub in Maglaj is planned for 20. September 2025. Year, on the occasion of Maglaj Municipality.
