The second international youth football tournament “Brčko Cup 2026” started in Brčko, which brought together 24 teams of the youngest football players from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
This two-day sports event is organized by the “Champion” football school, with the support of local institutions, with the aim of promoting sports, healthy upbringing and development of young talents.
Boys and girls aged 2016 and 2017 participate in the tournament, and the teams come from several cities in the region, which gives this competition an international character. Although the arrival of some teams from Serbia was canceled due to bad weather conditions, the organizers point out that they are satisfied with the response and interest.
The competition takes place over two days – on the first day teams of the older age category perform, while the second day is reserved for younger participants. The group stage is followed by elimination matches, which will culminate in the final matches and the announcement of the winner, the organizers said.
Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the matches were moved to closed sports halls, but this did not diminish the enthusiasm of the young athletes and the audience. On the contrary, a good atmosphere and sportsmanship marked the start of the tournament.
“Brčko Cup 2026” once again confirms the importance of sports events in connecting children from different backgrounds, providing them with the opportunity to socialize, gain new experiences and develop team spirit.
