Due to the Second World War Bomb found on Friday near the Paris Station of Gare Du Nord, all the railway traffic to the north of the country was stopped, as well as the EuroStar trains towards London.

The bomb was discovered by workers near the railway for about four hours in the morning. Deminers are instructed on site and their action is still running.

The French Traffic Minister Filip Tabarot said that the traffic will be “significantly disturbed” during the day, with limited departures that will be continued in the afternoon, and called the passengers to delay their journeys.

Tabarot said that local residents and people near railroad stations should not be afraid of explosions, emphasizing that there are procedures for safe deactivation and removal of such bombs.

Gare du Nord is a large European transit hub, which serves international destinations north of France, such as London, Brussels and the Netherlands, as well as the main airport in Paris.

The bombs remain from the first or second world war are regularly revealed throughout France, but it is very rare to find them on the locations of crowded people.
