The Municipality of Tešanj and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton appealed to all road users to respect the regulations when using bicycles, electric scooters and other similar means of transport, with the aim of increasing the safety of pedestrians and all road users.
It is especially emphasized that they are sidewalks intended primarily for pedestriansand that bicycles and scooters must not be driven faster than the speed of pedestrians or in a way that hinders or endangers their safety.
It is allowed pushing a bicycle or scooter on the sidewalkbut only if the movement of pedestrians is not hindered and their safety is not endangered.
Who can drive a bicycle and scooter?
According to current regulations:
- Bicycles can be operated by persons who have reached the age of majority 12 years of life;
- electric scooters and other similar means of transport can be operated by people who have at least 14 years.
Drivers of electric scooters are obliged to wear buckled safety helmetwhile all bicycle and scooter drivers from dusk to dawn, i.e. in conditions of reduced visibility, are obliged to use reflective vest or suitable retro-reflective clothing accessories in order to be more noticeable in traffic.
Also, on an electric scooter and other similar means of transport only one person is allowed to drivewhile the transport of more than one person is prohibited.
The fine is 200 KM
With a fine of 200 KM persons who:
- ride a bicycle or an electric scooter on the sidewalk faster than the speed of pedestrians or endanger pedestrians;
- drive an electric scooter before reaching the age of 14;
- operate a bicycle on the road before the age of 12;
- they do not use a protective helmet when it is mandatory;
- do not use a reflective vest or retroreflective accessories in conditions of reduced visibility;
- transport more than one person on a scooter or bicycle;
- they do not respect other road users.
Control of compliance with these regulations is carried out by officials MUP of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Tešanj Police Station.
Officials call on citizens to respect traffic rules, take care of their own safety, as well as the safety of other road users. Regulations are regulated Decision on the organization and safety of road trafficpublished in the Official Gazette of Tešanj Municipality.
