The roof of the football stadium in BiH collapsed

There were no injuries in the incident, Bijeljina’s BN television reported.

As stated, it is a project whose construction is financed by the Government of Brčko District, and the locals and representatives of the local community warn that the tragedy was avoided only by sheer luck, given that a few days ago a football match was played at that stadium, which was attended by a large number of spectators.

The President of the Gornji Brezik Local Community, Mišo Kojić, stated that the canopy was in the construction phase and that the final works had not yet been completed.

According to him, the canopy probably collapsed due to a problem with the concrete pillars.

He believes that after this incident, a serious review of the design and supervision of the works should be carried out.

For now, there is no official information on whether an investigation or extraordinary supervision of the performed works will be launched.
