In the grand final of the +84 kilogram category, Bostandžić faced the Chilean fighter Rodrigo Rojas, who in the end celebrated a narrow victory with a score of 8:7.
Both finalists showed great fighting spirit, but in the end the gold went to the Chilean, while the Champion Karate Club member had to settle for silver, even though he had a lead of 7:5 until the very end of the fight. Despite the defeat, the silver medal at one of the world’s strongest karate competitions represents an exceptional success for Bostandžić and confirmation of his top form.
– With this result, Anes once again showed that he belongs to the very top of world karate and that Bosnia and Herzegovina has reasons for optimism when it comes to this sport – said Bostandžić’s coach, Denis Muhović, who, despite the defeat, emphasized that he was very proud of his pullen.
