The Prime Minister of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Nezir Pivić, together with the Minister of Spatial Planning, Transport and Communications and Environmental Protection Adnan Šabani and the representative in the ZDK Assembly, Alen Kapković, visited the final works of the first phase of the rehabilitation of the regional road R473 Nemila – Bistricak – Teslić.
The value of the realized investment is 400,000 KM. The works included the installation of two layers of asphalt on a section 400 meters long, the construction of two footpaths, as well as the complete reconstruction of the storm water drainage system.
Prime Minister Pivić pointed out that the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton continues to invest strongly in road infrastructure throughout the canton, with the aim of increasing the safety of all road users and the even development of local communities.
– The modernization of the regional road Nemila – Teslić is part of a wider investment cycle in 2026. We continue with investments that will contribute to safer traffic, better connectivity of settlements and better living conditions for citizens – said Prime Minister Pivić.
Minister Šabani emphasized that with the completion of the first phase, the continuity of investments on this road route continued.
– We have completed the first segment of the works, 400 meters long, and this year two more phases are planned on the Nemila-Bistrichak route. With this investment, the total investment on this road in 2026 will amount to about 1.2 million KM, and with regular maintenance an additional 300,000 KM, a total of about 1.5 million KM. This is extremely important for the residents of local communities who gravitate to this area – said Minister Šabani.
A representative in the ZDK Assembly, Alen Kapković, pointed out that the dynamics of the works were slowed down due to unfavorable weather conditions, but that the following sections are expected to be completed more quickly.
– A new phase of work on this section of the road will soon follow – said Kapković.
In the past two years, the relevant ministry and the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton have invested about 2 million KM in modernization projects and regular maintenance of regional roads in the area of the Nemil basin.
