In the case of the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of American television presenter Savannah Guthrie, which has been going on for more than a week, the FBI has released the first photos and video materials of the suspect.
According to FBI Director Kash Patel, the footage shows an armed person allegedly tampering with a camera at the front door of Nancy Guthrie’s home in Tucson, Arizona, on the morning of her disappearance. Photos and video footage were reconstructed from previously unavailable data, Patel said on the X platform.
The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona have been working with private companies for more than seven days to recover lost or damaged video and photo materials. The published footage was reconstructed from technical data stored in the surveillance systems, after the surveillance cameras were removed from the scene.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, went missing in late January, and investigators suspect she was abducted. Savannah Guthrie and her two siblings had made several video appeals to the unknown suspect in the previous days, with the latest messages including a possible ransom demand.

The deadline for the payment of 6 million dollars (about 5.05 million euros), stated in one of the letters, expired on Monday evening, and the consequences of that deadline are not yet known. The FBI previously offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the finding of Nancy Guthrie or the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
This case attracted special public attention, among other things, because Savannah Guthrie conducted notable interviews with Jeffrey Epstein’s victims in 2019. However, it is still not clear if there is a connection between this possible abduction and previous events.
