At the beginning of August, Tomislavgrad will once again host one of the recognizable sports events in this part of Herzegovina. Traditional Tobacco tenthe race for the crown of King Tomislav, will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, starting at 6:00 p.m. on the plateau in front of the Tomislavgrad Municipality building.
It will be 12th edition of the race it organizes Athletic Club Puls Tomislavgrad in partnership with the Athletic Sports Club “ASK” Split.
Program of events
As in previous years, the program will include:
- the main 10 kilometer race,
- citizens’ race of 3.3 kilometers
- children’s races.
The main 10 kilometer race it is run in three laps on a track that has an official AIMS certificatewhich guarantees the accuracy of the measured distance. Race of citizens is run in one round, while they are children’s racesin lengths from 100 to 400 meters, intended for children of preschool age until 2011. Registration for children’s races will be done on the day of the event, and participation is free.
Entry fee for the main 10-kilometer race, it is 25 KM, or 13 euros, while the entry fee for the citizens’ race is 15 KM, or 8 euros. The official t-shirt of the race is available for an additional fee of 15 KM, i.e. 8 euros.

Applications for the Tobacco Ten they are open until Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:45 p.m., and after the deadline, applications will no longer be possible. The organizers note how it is the number of participants is limited to 300 competitors, and applications will be closed earlier if the capacity is filled before the specified deadline.
Downloading starter packs will be organized on the day of the race, August 1, from 14:00 to 17:00 at the starting location. The starting package for the 10- and 3.3-kilometer races includes a starting number, a finisher’s medal, refreshments on the course and at the finish line, a joint dinner, medical assistance during the race, and participation in a raffle.
Children’s races start at 4:45 p.m., the organizer’s welcome speech is scheduled for 5:45 p.m., while the 10-kilometer race and the citizens’ race will start at 6:00 p.m. The announcement of the winner is planned at 19:15, followed by a raffle and a joint dinner.
They are intended for the fastest competitors at 10 kilometers cash prizes. In the absolute men’s and women’s competition, the winners will win 400 KM each, a cup and a medal, while cash prizes are also provided for second, third, fourth and fifth place. Special awards will also be given to the best competitors from the municipality of Tomislavgrad, and medals will also be awarded in age categories.
The goal of the event is the promotion of sports, a healthy lifestyle and socializing through running, with a rich accompanying program and a traditionally good atmosphere. The organizers invite all runners, recreationists and citizens to register on time and be part of this year’s “royal story” in Tomislavgrad.
