The song “Andromeda” by the ethno-pop band Howl is the winner of the held Dora and will represent Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest in May in Vienna.
The group Lelek won at the final evening, where 16 performers performed, and the best song was decided equally by the votes of the evaluation courts (jury) and the votes of the audience. The audience gave the winning song 96 points, and the jury 77 points “Andromeda” won with a total of 173 points.
The members of the winning band are Inka Večerina Perušić, Judita Štorga, Korina Olivia Rogić, Lara Brtan and Marina Ramljak, and the group combines elements of Croatian traditional music with modern pop sound, with the aim of preserving and reinterpreting Slavic cultural identity.
The song “Andromeda” was inspired by the habit of hissing – tattoos of Catholic women in Bosnia and parts of Croatia during Ottoman rule.
Along with the song, there is also an interesting piece of information. He is the author of the lyrics Tomislav Rosso, former professional basketball playerit says Gol.hr.
Rosso played in the first Croatian league in the jersey Kastela fishing.
