The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted, on the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, a decision on the temporary suspension and reduction of customs rates on the import of certain goods until December 31, 2026, with the aim of supporting the domestic economy.
The decision refers to materials and raw materials that domestic manufacturers use as raw materials in their own production, especially for products intended for export or as a substitute for imported products that cannot be obtained on the domestic market in the required quantities and quality. The measures are harmonized with the Law on Customs Tariffs, and were adopted based on the request of the Chamber of Foreign Trade of BiH, entity chambers of commerce and business entities from several industrial sectors.
In 2026, the decision included 71 tariff codes, of which 64 were transferred from the previous decision, five were deleted, while seven were new. Customs rates were additionally reduced for four tariff codes, and changes were made for two codes. The decision enters into force on the day of its adoption, and will be applied from January 1, 2026, after its publication in the “Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
At the same session, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the proposal of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, approved a multi-year project of modernization and modernization of weapons and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is a project for the procurement of specialized vehicles for light infantry units at the battalion level, with a total estimated value of 10.03 million KM.
The project plans to procure 46 specialized vehicles that will replace outdated armored personnel carriers in use since the 1970s, and its financing is foreseen through the Program of multi-year capital projects for the period from 2025 to 2030.
