“I don’t know how to start… I’ve been thinking about what to write for days. It’s hard for me to write anything.
In 2024, my first invitation to the national team arrived. I will never forget that feeling. My dream came true! And every subsequent invitation to the national team brought me the same joy. Every coming to the meeting and every training was a great honor for me.
Also, our great success… qualifying for the World Championship. I must say that I always believed in us and knew that we would succeed. The game against Italy and everything that followed after it is something that words cannot describe. The whole of Bosnia celebrated with us, and even today I shudder when I remember the welcome in Sarajevo.
And then that call… To be on the roster for the World Cup. Pride. Happiness. Biggest wish come true. That gathering, that euphoria and atmosphere we felt, unforgettable.
Unfortunately, everything that happened after the friendly match against Macedonia is also unforgettable.

After two years, I got the chance to make my debut for my country. Just minutes before realizing my dream, my world came crashing down. One wrong step and the pain I felt. I knew immediately that something serious had happened.
But, I felt an even greater pain in my heart, because it was clear to me that my path to the World Championship, unfortunately, ends there.
That was the hardest blow in my career so far… that’s why I want to thank all the players and coaching staff, as well as everyone who supported me in those most difficult moments. Your messages, calls, words of encouragement and faith in me gave me strength when I needed it most. I will never forget that and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Although I am no longer with them on the field, I am in heart and soul. These guys are special! I enjoyed spending time with them, because they are great people even off the field!! Guys with a big heart and character!!
I know he will go far. I firmly believe in them! I will encourage them with all my strength and they will be in my every prayer. Guys, show who Bosnia and Herzegovina is! Show what Bosnian stubbornness is!”, said Hadžikić.
