Federal Minister of Transport and Communications Andrijana Katić she held in Mostar meeting with the director Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs Ivan Prvulovićwhere improvement of the legislative framework and strengthening of inspection supervision in the field of road transport in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed.
Focus on legislative changes and inspection supervision
As announced by the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs, the central topic of the meeting was the need for better organization of road transportthrough amendments to the current regulations, with the aim of more effective supervision and suppression of illegal activities.
Minister Katic pointed out that the interest of the Ministry establishing a strong and functional inspectionand emphasized the readiness to make changes and additions of the Law on Roads of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina provide adequate tools for comprehensive inspection supervision.
The fight against the gray economy
Director Ivana Prvulović said that the meeting was initiated in order to review the current situation in the field of road transport and to improve regulations, with a special emphasis on suppression of illegal passenger transportwhich represents one of the more prominent forms of the gray economy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to her, one of the important topics was i equalization of the position of carriers from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with their colleagues from Republika Srpska and Brčko Districtgiven that stricter conditions for the performance of this activity are prescribed in the Federation.
– These changes would end the discriminatory position of carriers registered in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – stressed Prvulović.
Broader institutional cooperation
The meeting also discussed other current issues in the field of cooperation between Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications and Federal Administration for Inspection Affairswith the aim of improving institutional coordination and more efficient action in the coming period.
