The Founding Assembly was held in Bihać, where the Badminton Association of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was formed. The association was founded by three active clubs from Bihać, Sarajevo and Široki Brijeg with the aim of popularizing this Olympic discipline.
The founders of the new alliance are Badminton club Una from Bihać, Badminton club Sarajevo and Badminton club Herc from Široki Brijeg. These associations have been working for years to promote sports through the organization of events and the gathering of recreationists, and now they have unanimously elected the leadership for a term of four years.
He was appointed president of the Association Hamid Tanović (BK Sarajevo), is the vice president Ikbala Makić (BK Una), while he was elected as the President of the Assembly Mario Lebo (BK Hertz).
The newly formed association announced ambitious plans aimed at popularizing sports and involving children. President of the Sarajevo Badminton Club Ilijas Karamehmedović pointed out that the establishment of the association represents an important step forward for this sport in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A promotional event for children and veterans will be held at the Electrical Engineering School in Bihać from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The work of the Association was supported by the City Sports Association of Bihać, the Tourist Board “Visit Bihać” and the Una National Park.
