Intense snowfall and increased snowfall caused disruptions in the supply of electricity in the wider area of the Federation of BiH, including the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK), which during the night and morning hours recorded a significant increase in the number of failures on the power grid.
More than 15,000 consumers are currently without electricity in the Zenica-Doboj Canton. The most difficult situation was recorded in the area of Kakanj and Olov, while interruptions in supply were also recorded in Tešnj, Zavidovići, Visoko and Vareš. The increased number of breakdowns in these municipalities further complicates the normal functioning of households and the economy.
The most critical situation at the level of the Federation is in the Tuzla Canton, where more than 29 thousand consumers are without electricity due to faults on 31 transmission lines. The area of Živinice was particularly affected, with more than 11,000 consumers without power, while significant outages were also recorded in Lukavac and Srebrenik, where around 10,000 consumers are without electricity.
Supply problems are also present in the Central Bosnian Canton, where a failure of the 110 kV transmission line under the jurisdiction of Elektroprijenos BiH caused interruptions in the area of Gornji Vakuf, as well as in Travnik, Busovača and Kiseljak. Consumers in Ostrošac, Buturović Polje and Jablanica in the Herzegovina-Neretva canton are also without electricity, while breakdowns were also recorded in the Una-Sana, Bosnian-Podrinj cantons, Goražde and Sarajevo cantons.
The electrical assembly teams of all branches of Elektroprivreda BiH are on the ground and are intensively working on eliminating faults and normalizing the supply. Additional difficulties are represented by the demanding terrain configuration and difficult access to power facilities.
