Croatian entrepreneur and former mayor of Split Željko Kerum defrauded Herzegovinian entrepreneur Petr Ćorluka, owner of Violeta from Grud and a number of other companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
The fraud happened 13 years ago, but it has now been officially judged.
Namely, according to the verdict of the Split Commercial Court, Kerum defrauded Ćorluka as a creditor of his company Kerum doo by not paying him HRK 397,000. Then he paid himself a profit of over HRK 37 million for the year 2012, before he was blocked.
Ćorluka learned about the verdict this week from a journalist.
Took the goods – didn’t pay
– I wasn’t really aware until you contacted me, because I left everything to my lawyers. What I can say is how glad I am that the rule of law is working. The matter is legally quite clear, because he took our goods, did not pay us, and used the earnings from the same goods for personal needs – said Ćorluka for Free Dalmatia.
There is no understanding of the Split entrepreneur’s way of doing business.
– With me, it was always first to pay all the debts, and then I get what’s left. Such are the values of my company and myself. I am not up to date on how the process went, but the fact is that he is in debt, as well as not having a bad financial situation – said Ćorluka.
He added that all these years they had many customers who really went bankrupt and have nothing, and that they were never sued and their claims were written off.
– But someone who is in a good financial situation, but has a debt, had to stand behind it with his private property, because he is responsible for the business of the company he owns. I am also responsible for companies owned by me and my private and company assets – said Ćorluka, he conveyed Flash.
