Bad weather conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina brought additional nervousness to the ranks of the Italian football team before the decisive match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the Italian media, the Italian coaching staff is concerned about the condition of the pitch at the “Bilino Polje” stadium in Zenica after heavy snowfall.
That’s why coach Gennaro Gattuso decided to change the preparation plan. Instead of training in Zenica, the Italians will do their last training on Monday morning at the training base in their country.
The Italian national team will then take a charter flight from Florence to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday afternoon. The national team “Azzura” should hold a media conference on the same day at the “Bilino Polje” stadium, as told to Vijesti.ba by the Football/Soccer Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at 5:00 p.m.
According to the latest information and the obvious change of plan, instead of training at 6 p.m., the Italians will just walk for a few minutes on the field of “Bilina polje” in order to familiarize themselves with the state of the turf.
The play-off final match for the World Cup “USA, Canada and Mexico 2026” between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy will be played on Tuesday at 20:45. It will be judged by Frenchman Clement Turpin.
Let us remind you that in the semi-finals Italy beat Northern Ireland (2:0) on Thursday, while Bosnia and Herzegovina won on the road in Wales (1:1) after a better penalty shootout (4:2).
