The Arsenal players qualified for the final of the Champions League after beating the Madrid club 1:0 in the second leg of the semi-final at their home ground in London.
“I applauded our players and fans. We had a very good season in the Champions League, we did our best, we got much further than we expected. It’s a shame at the end. We deserved to go at least to extra time, where we would have had better chances,” said Simeone.
He believes that the little things decided.
“In the first game, we had chances that we didn’t take. In the second half, we were better, we improved, we played in their half, we created opportunities. All those small details sometimes work in our favor, this time they didn’t,” said Simeone.
The Champions League final is scheduled for May 30 in Budapest.
