Saudi Arabia will provide 1.3 billion riyals ($347 million) to cover the salaries of government employees in Yemen and cover the budget deficit, a Saudi official said on Wednesday.
The decision comes weeks after the Kingdom announced $500 million worth of development projects across southern Yemen.
The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen announced last month that projects include reconstructing the runway at Aden Airport and equipping it with navigation and communication systems, as well as the reopening of major hospitals, including the hospital in Hadramewt.
