Four people are still missing, and two are injured, Zelenski announced on platform X, reports HINA.
“In any country, a drone attack on a passenger train would be considered an act of terrorism. There is no military justification for killing civilians in a carriage,” he wrote.
Zelensky called for greater international pressure on Russia and demanded that it be punished for its actions.
According to Zelenski, there were more than 200 passengers on the train. Previously, Minister of Development Oleksiy Kuleba said that there were 291 passengers, while the regional prosecutor’s office stated that there were more than 155.
Kuleba said Russian forces attacked the train with three Shahid drones that caused the fire. 291 passengers were evacuated on the train traveling on the Barvinkovo-Lviv route to the west.
Russian attacks on Ukraine’s rail system have caused death and destruction in the past.
