The Council of the City Districts of Swindon called all the razors and hairdressers to apply for a course and joins the initiative whose goal is the betterment and mental health of men.
The course participants will learn how to talk to customers about mental health and where I can get professional help and support.
“We recognized that the barbers and their clients develop a unique relationship between the public health Lydia Jordan, adding that the barber’s initiative and hairdressing salons turn into” safe spaces and encouraging environment. “
“While they are haired, the initiative will help men, young men and boys feel comfortable and can open and talk about emotional well-being,” Jordan claims.
Danny Hegarty, the Owner of the Barbers “Supreme Barbers”, has already reported himself and three colleagues for that course and believes that the initiative is a great thing.
“Already now men sometimes openly talk about their lives, home or family while they are hairy,” Hegarty said.
“I want them to come to us with full confidence, whether it’s a new hairstyle or emotions that bother them,” he added.
Jordan claims that the course will not be heavy or tedious, but will razor and hairdressers train how to talk about mental health, which words use and how and where they need clients if they need professional support.
“The goal is to remove the stigma that rules around mental health of men and young men.”
