Elvir Rahimić worked in Grbavica last season as sports director, which he held for one season after which he moved to Turkey.
In an interview with the Russian “Sport-express”, Rahimić explained how he arrived at Grbavica and pointed out that he had a very interesting experience from there.
“I received an invitation to work as a sports director, and the experience I had at Željezničar turned out to be interesting. I worked in that position for one season where we took fourth place in the championship and secured participation in the Conference League. A year earlier, the club was fighting for survival in the elite rank,” explained Rahimić.
Then he revealed why he left Željezničar.
“Last year, the head coach (Denis Ćorić) and I disagreed with the club management about further cooperation, which is not such a rare occurrence in football. The coach left for Jordan, and now I am here, in Turkey,” said Rahimić.
