The Mayor of Sarajevo, Samir Avdić, opened the 17th International Bowling Tournament for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Zetra today, which is held as part of the Sarajevo City Day celebration program.
He welcomed the bowlers-representatives from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and our Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Your presence confirms that sport erases borders and brings people together through respect, fair play and friendship,” Avdic said.
He pointed out that the City of Sarajevo proudly and strongly supports the activities and projects of people with disabilities, especially the blind and partially sighted, who with their results and persistence show every day that willpower and love for sports are stronger than any obstacle.
“I am sure that this 17th edition will also take place in an excellent sports atmosphere, with many notable performances, but also as a test of form before the European Championship, which will be held in Poland in May,” said the mayor.
