The current head of the coaching staff of Bayern emphasized that he plans to remain present in the world of basketball, but in a different role, through lectures and other activities, without involvement on the bench as a head coach.
“I am aware that many will doubt this decision, but after this season it is really time for me to stop,” said Pešić in an interview with the German Zeit.
Pešić returned to Bayern’s bench at the end of last year, and he already managed this club in the period from 2012 to 2016. He emphasized that he would not accept a job at another club, but that he has a special connection with Bayern.
During a long and successful career, the 76-year-old expert managed numerous clubs, including Bosnia, Barcelona, Cologne, Virtus Roma, Girona, Dynamo Moscow, Red Star and Valencia, as well as the national teams of Germany, Yugoslavia and Serbia.
