Based on my proposal, the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted an amendment to the Rules of Procedure that established the Parliamentary Commission for Cooperation with Immigration, said Denis Zvizdić, a member of the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He pointed out that this is the first time in post-Dayton Bosnia and Herzegovina that we have received an institutional form of cooperation with our diaspora.
– Our emigration is an important category of the population that we have not treated adequately so far. According to official data, the number of persons of BiH origin living abroad is over 2 million people, including descendants from the second and third generation of emigrants, Zvizdić said.
He explained that it is about our emigrants who, on the basis of their knowledge, work and effort, have become valued members of the communities in which they live and established leaders and managers in numerous fields, from education, culture, sports, entrepreneurship, etc., he writes Liberation.
– This is why their knowledge, skills and experience, as well as potential investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, are precious to us. In addition, according to the official data of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in just 9 months of last year, the diaspora sent more than 4.3 billion KM to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and this is certainly data for any kind of respect. That is why the establishment of this Commission is extremely good news for our people in the diaspora, who are a strong supporter of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is our duty to support them. In the end, I want to thank all my fellow MPs in PD who supported this initiative and enabled the establishment of the Commission for cooperation with emigration, concluded Zvizdić.
